THE PROBLEM
Is that change minor, or does it need a new approval?
Part-21 decides how you classify a change or repair, what your design organisation may approve itself, and on which certification basis a product is released. Regulation (EU) No 748/2012 has been amended repeatedly, and in 2023 an entirely new route was added with Part-21L for light aircraft.
A wrong classification is expensive in both directions: an unnecessary approval application costs months, and a missed one surfaces during an audit or, worse, at the moment of release.
The light-aircraft route has its own subparts and its own conditions, and the two run in parallel.
The classification rules sit across the Rule, the AMC and the GM — and your procedures have to cite all three.

How does the free trial work?

What is Part-21L and does it apply to us?
Part-21L is the alternative route introduced for the design and production of light aircraft, with its own subparts and conditions. It runs in parallel with Part-21, so both are in this package and can be compared side by side.
Do we need Part-26 as well?
Part-26 holds additional airworthiness specifications for operations, which apply to large aeroplanes and their operators. It is included in the AllIAW bundle and also available separately as ePART-26.
